What's included in a Tulip Field Mini Session with Helen Merz Photography


Discover a whole new approach to mini session experience and an upgrade package included with your session price. Every family that books with me can expect to start a beautiful relationship with a friendly neighborhood photographer. I love learning about your family and documenting the moments the mean the most. My goal is to become the photographer that stands by your side as your family grows and evolves no matter what type of session you book with me. This is why I love starting every client experience with a Pre-Session phone call. Sometimes this is the first time you'll hear my voice and I'll hear yours or if you're a returning client it's a fantastic way for me to get updated on what's new in your family's life.


Additionally, I have a strong belief that photos are meant to be held and viewed in the physical world. This is why each package you book with me, even bite-sized sessions like minis, include a keepsake album specifically designed for you. What better way to remember your experience and document your family's growth than through a physical book? No more worrying about if you downloaded your photographs, if you device has enough space, or if the newest tech will be able to view your thumb drive (who uses thumb drives still anyway?). You and your kids can look through the albums time and again remembering what fun it was during your session.


Included with your package you will receive an online viewing gallery where you can see all of your edited photographs (about 25) and download the 5 images that are included with your package price. You will also be able to order additional companion albums, select a print package for purchase, and/or upgrade to a full gallery download (the ability to download all of the images in your online gallery).

How to book your Tulip Field Mini Session


So you love flowers, Dalton Farms, and mini sessions? Hooray 🎉 ! Now, you need to take the first step of booking your 20 minute photography session with me. But how in the world do you do that? Super simple!


This year I'm taking advantage of Pixieset's Studio Manager and Booking site. Head on over to my booking site and select 2023 Tulip Field Minis. Then scroll down to view the available times to the right of the calendar. Once you select the time that works best for your family select continue. Fill out the intake form and hit submit. Then, I will receive a notification that you've inquired. I'll review your items and confirm your selection. Then, you'll receive an email that will have your contract, questionnaire, and payment forms. Follow the instructions for filling out the check and where to mail it. Once you have signed your contract, filled out your questionnaire, and mailed your check, your session slot will be confirmed.

What to expect during your Tulip Field Mini Session


Once you're all booked, we set up a time to chat before your session. On this call I get to hear all about your family, your interests, and what you expect to get out of this session. I will also walk your through my session flow, what's included in your package, and answer any questions you may have prior to our time in the tulip fields.


I make sure I stay in contact with you the 24 hours prior to your session since our time together is weather dependent. Typically, I make a decision to use the rain day the morning of your session date. As soon as I make the decision you will receive a text message from me confirming your session or confirming the need to use the rain date.


If I confirm your session is on, you can go online and purchase tickets to enter Dalton Farms. I suggest waiting until the day of our session to purchase your tickets because Dalton's has a no return policy on their tickets. Tickets can be purchased online for a small discount or at the gate.

What to expect after your Tulip Field Mini Session


After your session I will send a follow up email outlining what's included in your session as well as any upgrade options available (full gallery download, print purchases, frame purchases, etc).


When your photos are edited and uploaded to your gallery, you will receive an email to gain access. You will also be able to download your favorite 5 images, upgrade to full gallery download and other purchase options. You will also get a link to your designed 5x5 linen album where you can leave notes or approve. Additional companion albums at a discount. These companion albums make excellent gifts for family members.


Once your album designed is confirmed, it gets added to my queue of bulk album orders. When it's ready the album and other physical products get shipped to my home where I inspect for quality assurance. Then I mail it out to you!!
