I cannot believe I'm writing this as Q2 is kicking off, but here we are! The beginning of the year is typically a slower time of the year as the weather is wintery, gray, and chilly in NJ. Talking to many seasonal workers, the off-season can feel daunting, nerve wracking, and a bit uncertain. However, it's a great time to tackle creative projects, catch up on admin tasks, and plan for the upcoming year.
This off season I tackled two semi-big projects. 1. Rebuilding the website from the ground up with Pixieset and 2. Refining my packages and pricing.
Updating the website has been on my to-do list for two seasons. Mainly because I completely destroyed the backend of the website. At the time, I was planning on doing a full site overhaul and began working on several pages at once. Until I realized I had touched every page of the website and couldn't hit "publish" to update the site without finishing everything that was in progress. This took the wind out of my sails for a long time. Lesson: work on small portions of the website until finished and hit publish before moving on to the next portion AND never work on two or more parts of the website at once. I'm so happy that I can now add and refine little by little now that I have a great base. 😅 This is a great way to kick off 2025.
Working on refining my packages and pricing was another big task this off-season. I now have 5 years of data to review, analyze, and pinpoint what works and what doesn't. A big revelation is that I'm bringing back and focusing on Full Sessions! These sessions are typically 40-6o minutes in length. They give us plenty of time to slow down, get creative, capture candids, as well as posed images. Another item I'm bringing back is the Mini Album! These were fantastic keepsakes for my families and I know they were adored. Additionally, you'll receive more information on your options for printing your photos. Creating physical reminders of your sessions are important to me. I hate thinking that the next generation of kids won't have albums or photo books to look through.
In addition to these project, I've worked closely with some brand clients, scheduled upcoming sessions for new and returning clients, and put together our first business meetup of the year. Check out the images of the sessions we had in the first 3 months below!
