When it came time to plan the perfect proposal, Dan knew one thing for sure: he wanted the moment captured with professional photography. With the help of his brother Ricardo and sister-in-law Lauren—longtime clients of mine (you might remember their maternity session)—Dan reached out to plan a surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Kylie, right at home in South Jersey.
After a couple of phone calls, the plan was set: I would sneak into the house through the back door and help Kylie’s sister, her mom, and Dan’s mom set the stage for a romantic surprise.
We scattered rose petals, lit candles, and carefully arranged the space to create a cozy, romantic atmosphere. Once everything was in place, everyone cleared out, and I hid in the darkened kitchen, tracking Dan’s location on my phone as they made their way home.
When the car pulled in, I got into position with my camera.
And then… it happened.
💍 Kylie was completely shocked.
She couldn’t believe Dan was proposing—and the joy and surprise on her face said it all. It was an emotional, beautiful moment filled with happy tears, "I love yous," and tight embraces.
We captured a handful of portraits right after the proposal—documenting those immediate, intimate reactions that are once-in-a-lifetime—and then I headed over to Dan’s parents’ house to get ready for part two…

Their closest friends and family were waiting to celebrate this new chapter with them, and the energy was incredible. It was such an honor to be part of this unforgettable day and document the love that surrounded Kylie and Dan.
